	Nelda E. Robb of Oakdale died Thursday, January 6, 2005 at 7:30 p.m. at Pinckneyville Community Hospital after a lengthy fight with lung cancer.  She had reached the age of 86.
	Mrs. Robb was born on December 29, 1918 in Oakdale, the oldest daughter of Rae J. and Florence (Boner) Boyle.  She married Warren Robb of Swanwick on June 30, 1946 and he preceded her in death on July 20, 1987.  They had no children.
	Mrs. Robb was a graduate of Pleasant Hill Grade School (a one-room school located on her parents farm), Sparta High School in Sparta, she attended Monmouth College and graduated from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, with a Bachelor Degree in Education.  She later obtained a Masters Degree.
	She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church, Oakdale, a member of the Missionary Society of the church, and served as an elder.  She was an active member of the Perry County Historical Society and a supporter of the jail preservation in Pinckneyville.  She was a member of the Washington County Historical Society and the Washington and Perry County Farm Bureau.
	Mrs. Robb was a retired teacher, having taught for over 30 years, beginning her career in one-room school houses in Washington County, then to Swanwick Grade School, Lost Prairie CC District 205, Cutler, and ending her career at Marissa Unit District, Marissa.  She was a member of the Illinois Retired Teacher Association.  She always stated that she never had children of her
own but she had many, many children she nurtured through education.
	Mrs. Robb was a local Abraham Lincoln scholar.  She was an avid reader and collector of books concerning Lincoln.  She gave lectures on Lincoln over the years.
	Survivors to Nelda are her sister: Pearl V. (Boyle), who is married to Charles W. Auld of Oakdale, three sisters-in-law: Elizabeth (Robb) Shaw of Cutler, Grace (Robb) and husband Raymond Hubler of Swanwick and Elsie (Robb) Leemon of Sparta, and 13 nieces and nephews.
	Funeral services will be held at the United Presbyterian Church, Oakdale, on Monday, January 10, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend John Stahlman of Springfield officiating.  Interment will be in the Bethel Cemetery in Swanwick.
	Friends may call at the Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home, Oakdale, on Sunday, January 9, 2005 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again on Monday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until services.
